Winner at the 'Redesign Crafts' 2017 contest, by ING Bank.
Designed together with Stefan Pavaluta, produced with Mesteshukar Butiq.
Our project beautifully combines the usefulness of objects obtained through traditional techniques with the need for mobility and versatility in the relationship between the user his home.
The identification of the material was given by the basic idea of the contest's theme - the craftsmanship. We agreed that the authenticity lies in the process of manufacturing, not in the reuse of the existing traditional elements, later called 'design'. Wicker, for us, was fitting perfectly with what we were looking for, and the contest was the perfect pretext to centralize these ideas and materialize them in a project.
We thought of the object as a versatile one - it can be used in living rooms, on the balcony, but also in the bathroom, and eventually outdoors. Even if wicker keeps its natural shape, the metal frame can be finished in different colors and why not, different textures.
