The brief asked for material weight and atmospheric precision in a compact duplex footprint. The response was economy of decision: a single floor-to-ceiling Alpi Wood veneer system carries the walls, the integrated joinery, and the kitchen surround, so that one material choice does the work of many. Against it, bleached plaster and a continuous chevron oak floor keep the space from tipping into heaviness; the double-height void gives the compact plan its breath.
The upper floor was developed as a sequence of compression and release: a flush-joinery corridor with hand-turned red marble knobs leading to a master suite and two bathrooms resolved as singular objects: stacked ceramic tile, integrated stone washbasins, biomorphic mirrors.
